Monday, January 18, 2021 marks Martin Luther King Jr. Day, an American federal holiday in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday which is observed on the third Monday of January every year. 

This year, Canada's NDP leader, Jagmeet Singh posted a message in celebration of the holiday.

"Only when it's dark enough can you see the stars” ― Martin Luther King Jr.," he quoted.

Singh continued to reference the particularly "difficult times" that we are living through right now

"But, let's remember the words of Dr. King and the lessons of history ― when we take care of and uplift one another, we all rise," he concluded. 

Today Twitter is flooded with messages and quotes in honour of King.
