This 'Staircase To Heaven' Hike Is Only A 2-Hour Road Trip Away From Phoenix

Giant cacti, many trails, & views for days! 🌵🥾
Contributor

Some of the most stunning hikes are only a road trip away. Saguaro National Park in Arizona is home to giant saguaros, a handful of trails, and views for days. But there's one path, in particular, that takes you up a "staircase to heaven."

Just a little over two hours outside of Phoenix, you'll find this desert park nestled outside of the town of Tucson.

With over a handful of trails to choose from, Douglas Springs Trailhead is one to add to your bucket list.

It's perfect for beginners as the website rates it as easy with an elevation gain of 2,750 feet.

That means you can drag along your BFF who hates hiking; they might end up loving it after this journey.

You might not want to mention the length, though, since it's about 16.5 miles out and back!

The great part is that you can turn around at any point, so if you're only a mile in, you can hike back to the trailhead for a total of two-miles.

Talk about a win-win.

Continuing about 5.5 miles in, you'll be rewarded with the sweetest treat ever — Bridal Wreath Falls!

This seasonal waterfall flows from monsoon rain and snowmelt, so plan accordingly.

The entrance fee is $25 per vehicle and lasts for a week so you can keep coming back again and again to explore all of the other trails.

It looks like your daily excursions are set.

Grab your favorite person and head out to this national park for the ultimate trip.
