A New Study Revealed How Much Porn Americans Are Watching & For Some It's A LOT

They're really putting in the time.

Contributor

A survey by Leger in collaboration with The Atlantic, released on June 2, broke down some of the stats surrounding pornography consumption in the U.S. Over 1,000 Americans over the age of 18 participated in the study, which took place in May 2021.

Over half of Americans surveyed said they have watched porn. Of those who said they had, 17% said they had actually watched porn in the past day.

When it comes to how much pornography Americans are consuming, 61% of respondents who said they had watched porn in the last year said that they typically watch less than 20 minutes in an average week.

Twenty-nine percent said they watch 20-59 minutes per week. Meanwhile, 10% said they watch between one and seven hours a week and 1% said they watch more than seven hours per week. That equates to more than one hour each day.

It appears that people are consuming pornography the most in the north-eastern part of the country, as this is where the largest percentage of respondents said they're watching one to seven hours of porn (17%) or over seven hours (3%) in an average week.
