If you're wondering just how St. Nick is planning on making his way around the globe during the pandemic, worry no more! Dr. Bonnie Henry has assured us that Santa Claus will only be spreading presents in 2020.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference on Thursday, Dr. Henry said she had it on good authority that Santa will be "first in line" for the vaccine, and he'd get it in time for Christmas.

And she said he'll be wearing a mask and doing plenty of handwashing the whole time he is travelling around.

In terms of Santa Claus, I have it on very good authority that he’s first in line for vaccine. Bonnie Henry

"We expect that will be the case by this Christmastime, and that he’s able to do what he usually does," Henry said, noting that the reindeer would be just as careful themselves.

"So no leaving the milk and cookies this year, and let’s just be happy that he can make it around the world," she added.

Henry isn't the first Canadian health expert to bring up Santa Claus in their briefings.

Canada's Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam said that had a call with Father Christmas today to chat over their plans for the holiday.

Dr. Tam assured Canadians that Santa had also committed to isolating for 14 days before his trip.

"He's an old pro," she said.
