There's nothing quite like venturing around the North Cascades, but one of the highlights along the way is Diablo Lake in Washington state. It is an attraction for both locals and tourists alike and is known for its incredible turquoise color. It's the perfect spot to stop and snag an Instagram photo or, on a hot summer day, dip your toes in that sweet and crisp water!

You won't need a Discovery Pass or a parking pass to visit this beautiful spot, and you can also bring along your furry friend — but make sure they are on a leash.

Get ready for an epic trip with breathtaking sights that look like they're right out of Neverland.

For the hiking fans out there, the Diablo Lake Trail is about a 7.6 miles round trip.

The trail is considered a moderate hike, so you'll have to put in some work to enjoy your bountiful reward. It's also a heavily trafficked hike, but that's no surprise with those views.

According to the Washington Trails Association, you'll get to glimpse "cascading waterfalls and stunning views of Ross Lake and Colonial, Pyramid, Davis Peaks, as well as Jack Mountain."

Once you park your car at the North Institutes Cascade Parking lot, you'll head about 1.5 miles in and find a viewpoint where you can see this oasis in all of its glory.

Even though this is only the first sighting, the views will get better with the inclusion of the Cascade's gorgeous peaks.

You'll even spy some waterfalls along the way — even one that's 700-feet tall!

There is a lot of camping and lodging options over in that area, so you can make a weekend stay out of it. Since it's so close to Gold Bar and Skykomish, it's an outdoor lovers dream.

Make sure to pack your hiking boots, a camera, and your best friends because Diablo Lake is a hike for the books.
