Bethenny Frankel raved about these BC restaurants and here are the ones she recommends
Former Real Housewives of New York City star Bethenny Frankel was in B.C. recently and she did a Vancouver food tour while she was in town.
The reality star visited numerous restaurants in and around the city and her rave reviews for some spots are reportedly helping boost business.
Frankel was in Vancouver filming a Lifetime movie called Danger in the Dorm. While she visited several tourist spots in downtown Vancouver, she also took trips to popular stores like Dollar Tree, Marshalls and Winners.
Fans enjoyed all her hot takes on the Canadian stores, which she shared in videos on social media, it looks like her food recommendations are what people love most.
In one video, Frankel shared a list of all the food spots she visited in Vancouver and which ones she recommends to anyone planning a visit to the city.
"Eating my way through Vancouver…FOOD TOUR time! Save this post if you’re headed there soon," she wrote along with the clips from the various spots she went to.
Frankel's recommendations include the Licorice Parlor on Granville Island, Hello Nori, Ramen Danbo, Giardino Restaurant, Cactus Club Cafe, Perverted Ice Cream and Lee’s Donuts.
However, it looks like Frankel's top food recommendation wasn't at a restaurant, but a meal she ate in the parking lot of a Canadian Tire.
The reality star visited Lully's Hot Dog stand while she was in Abbotsford and she couldn't get over how good the meal was.
"When a New Yorker finds the best hot dog EVER in a parking lot in Canada," Frankel wrote alongside her video.
In the clip, she calls the hot dog "the winner of anything I've ever reviewed."
"This is the best hot dog I've ever had in my life, and I grew up going to Nathan's," Frankel said.
In an interview with CTV News, the owner of Lully's, Skully White, said Frankel's visit had a big impact on his business.
"I talked to almost everybody that came up and said, ‘First timer?’ They’d be like, ‘yeah.’ And I'd be like ‘Bethenny?’ And they'd be like, ‘yeah!'" he told CTV.
White's business isn't all about food and has a special mission to help kidney donors connect with people who need transplants.
White told CTV he typically gets between three and five inquiries a month and Frankel's visit increased that number dramatically.
"Eleven people in 36 hours stepped forward to start the paperwork to become living donors, I was almost in tears when the dust settled in my brain," he said in the interview.
It sounds like Frankel's visit to Abbotsford also helped boost tourism.
"Everyone told me that there was nothing going on in Abbotsford, that it was farmland and there's nothing to do and I think it's one of the most interesting towns I've ever been in," Frankel said in one of her videos.
The executive director of Tourism Abbotsford, Clare Seeley, told CTV that Frankel's videos created "community pride" for those who live there.
