A new ranking of Canada's best credit cards says these are top choices for grocery shopping
There's a new ranking of Canada's best credit cards for 2025.
It revealed the top cards that get you cash back, rewards, money off groceries and more at grocery stores in Canada.
Money.ca recently put out a ranking of Canada's best credit cards that includes the best overall card along with the top cards for rewards, cash back, travel, groceries, and more.
More than 200 credit cards were analyzed to determine which cards are the best-in-class options this year.
When it comes to grocery shopping, Money.ca compared major grocery credit cards in Canada by earn rates, welcome offers and perks.
The best grocery card in Canada for 2025 is the BMO CashBack World Elite Mastercard, according to this ranking.
That's because the BMO CashBack World Elite card offers bonus rewards at more grocery stores than other cards, so you can "maximize earnings regardless of where you shop."
You earn 5% cash back on groceries and can cash out grocery rewards whenever you want since there's no minimum redemption threshold.
But the BMO CashBack World Elite Mastercard has a $120 annual fee, which is the highest of the top three grocery credit cards.
Then, the SimplyCash Preferred Card from American Express and the PC Mastercard are the second and third best credit cards for groceries in this ranking.
With the American Express SimplyCash Preferred Card, there is an annual fee of $119.88 that's spread throughout the year.
So, it's "more accessible for budget-conscious shoppers," according to Money.ca.
It also offers cash back and rewards on groceries, but the card isn't accepted at all grocery stores in Canada.
With the PC Mastercard, there is no annual fee.
That makes it a good option if you want a card for groceries but don't want it to be your main credit card, according to Money.ca.
It doesn't earn cash back like the other cards, but you get PC Optimum points that can be used for money off purchases.
Money.ca noted that this credit card has "exceptional points earning potential" at Loblaw-owned stores like No Frills and Real Canadian Superstore.
After those top three cards, the American Express Cobalt, More Rewards RBC Visa Infinite, and Rogers Red World Elite Mastercard are ranked as some of the best grocery credit cards in Canada.
