New rankings of the best credit cards you can get in Canada for 2025 have been released.

That includes the best credit cards for students with perks like no annual fees, cash back on groceries, travel points, and more.

If you're looking for recommendations, Ratehub.ca shared its annual Credit Card Awards and creditcardGenius revealed its Best Credit Cards in Canada ranking for 2025.

The best student credit card, according to Ratehub.ca, is the BMO CashBack Mastercard — Student because it's "a smart choice."

"This card provides a simple and valuable way to earn rewards on your spending," Ratehub.ca noted.

Here's why the BMO CashBack Mastercard — Student was named the best credit card:

  • no annual fee
  • no income requirement
  • 3% cash back on groceries
  • earn 5% cash back in your first three months
  • redeem cash back for as little as $1 at a time
  • extra benefits like purchase protection, extended warranty, and car rental discounts from National and Alamo

That's not the only option for students in 2025.

The best student credit card is the CIBC Aventura Visa Card for Students, according to creditcardGenius.
