This charming small town in Alberta was just ranked as the 'top destination' in the world
One small Canadian town has stood out among the rest, claiming the top spot in the world for places to visit. With charming streets, breathtaking nature, and that signature Canadian wilderness, it's earned the title.
FlightHub has released its Unveiled list, which gives insight into the current travel landscape and the best destinations around the globe. Along with other insights and data, the new editions include a list of "curated destinations that consistently deliver exceptional experiences."
At the very top of that list is Banff — a beloved Canadian small town nestled in the stunning Banff National Park and just an hour and a half from the hub of Calgary.
The FlightHub list included destinations from around the world, showcasing the best spots that the travel agency recommends "for travellers looking for experiences that offer strong value, local character, and unique appeal."
The release praised Banff for its "jaw-dropping scenery" and how easy it is to reach from the city. It's the perfect spot, offering a balance of convenient amenities while still allowing you to unplug and recharge in the natural surroundings.
The town of Banff is a popular choice for travellers for a reason. The jagged mountain peaks that the region is known for frame the picturesque small town streets — creating a scene from a storybook.
Along the streets you'll find cute boutiques, charming shops, and lots of restaurants. There's a bit of everything in terms of shopping, making it easy to stroll around for hours.
Since Banff is a major tourist destination, you enjoy the perks of lively streets and plenty to do, while still maintaining its small-town charm.
Of course, nothing beats the nature right at the doorstep of town. No matter how pretty the streets are to roam, the wilderness of the park is irresistible.
In the summer it's all biking, hiking past wildflower meadows and rushing waterfalls, enjoying glistening lakes and wandering into the lush forest.
In the winter, it turns into a winter wonderland, with snow-tipped mountains and twinkling lights everywhere. There are three ski resorts here and stunning lakes to skate on, so getting outside is still a must.
Fall is a perfect in-between time to visit when the larch trees change colour. You can go sightseeing, horseback riding, and hiking — soaking in the picture-perfect scenery.
Anytime of the year, soaking in the mineral waters of the Banff Upper hot springs and looking out at the view is a good idea.
This little town has a lot going for it, and now it's also got a title for the best in the world.
