The Beaches Revealed Their Fav Canadian Cities To Perform In & Why Halifax Is So Special
Toronto rock band The Beaches received two Juno Awards nominations on Tuesday and the group is sharing how much they're looking forward to this year's event on the East Coast.
The band spoke with Narcity at the nominations press event in Toronto and they gave several cities a shout-out, including Halifax which holds a special meaning.
The Beaches, made up of Jordan Miller, Kylie Miller, Leandra Earl and Eliza Enman-McDaniel, are up for two awards at the 2024 Juno Awards: Group of the Year and Rock Album of the Year.
On Tuesday's red carpet in Toronto, Narcity asked the group what their favourite Canadian cities to perform in are.
"It's always lovely playing in our home city Toronto, but Vancouver has been bringing it recently," Jordan said.
The rest of the group agreed Halifax was their top choice.

"I always say Halifax, I'm not just saying that. It's always really fun, it's a really good time," Earl shared.
"Halifax is always the best. We're gonna have so much fun at the Junos this year," Enman-McDaniel added.
Since the Junos will be hosted in Halifax on March 24, we asked the Canadian musicians what their favourite spots are in the city.
"There's that restaurant we love, The Bicycle Thief," Enman-McDaniel and Kylie agreed.
"My favourite gay bar just closed so I'm gonna have to find another queer bar to attend," Jordan added. "Bicycle Thief is always awesome and it's just a beautiful scenic city. Maybe go to the harbourfront or something."
Earl also shared the special meaning that Halifax has for her and her family.
"My grandparents entered Canada through the pier there so I always go and wave to the water," she explained.
The Beaches will also be performing at this year's Juno Awards along with Nelly Furtado, Charlotte Cardin and Maestro Fresh Wes.
Furtado will be hosting the 53rd Juno Awards in Halifax on March 24 at 8 p.m. EST.
