Henry Cavill has officially slain his last monster as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher, and fans of the Netflix show have a lot of feelings about how they pass the torch to Liam Hemsworth.

Cavill famously announced last year that he would be leaving the Witcher franchise so that he could reprise his role as Superman, after much lobbying from The Rock. He ended up losing both roles by the end of the year, as Netflix replaced him with Liam Hemsworth and Warner Bros. decided they'd rather have a new Superman altogether.

A new Man Of Steel will fly into theatres in 2025 as Warner Bros. has just announced that actor David Corenswet will replace Henry Cavill as Superman in a rebooted DC superhero universe.

DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn announced on Tuesday that Corenswet will play Clark Kent/Kal-El in his upcoming Superman: Legacy movie. He also revealed that Rachel Brosnahan of The Marvelous Ms. Maisel will step in as the new Lois Lane, replacing Amy Adams.

There are plenty of familiar faces in DC’s new superhero film The Flash, but it’s newcomer Sasha Calle who truly stands out as a Supergirl that audiences have never seen before.

The Colombian-born actress is director Andy Muschietti’s big addition to the superhero toy box in The Flash, which also includes two versions of Batman (Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck) and the Flash himself, Barry Allen (Ezra Miller).

Henry Cavill may have disappointed Witcher fans when he left to play (and then lose) Superman, but the boss of the Netflix franchise says there are still plenty of tales to tell without him.

The latest one, for instance, is Blood Origin, a four-episode prequel that’s set some 1,200 years before Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia arrives on the scene. Add to that Nightmare of the Wolf, an animated prequel about Geralt’s mentor, and it seems there’s still a lot of juice to squeeze out of the Witcher orange at this point.
