These Canadian Airports Have The Most Traveller Complaints & Number One Isn't Toronto Pearson
If you've ever had a negative experience at an airport in Canada, you definitely aren't alone.
Canadian airports accommodated about 117 million passengers in one year, according to the most recent statistics, so it's only to be expected that some travellers may have been less than pleased with their experience. Some airports, however, take the cake when it comes to passenger criticism.
A new report has revealed the airports in Canada with the most complaints from travellers, and despite being Canada's largest and busiest airport, Toronto Pearson International Airport was not found to be the worst offender.
To compile its ranking, Ontario Casinos analyzed passenger reviews to determine which airports in Canada are the most complained about by flyers.
The company's analysis focused on the percentage of reviews mentioning delays or cancellations and the percentage of negative ratings each airport received.
According to their findings, London International Airport (YXU) in Ontario is the most complained about airport in Canada, with 42% of reviews commenting on delays.
According to the airport, YXU ranks as the 12th busiest passenger airport in Canada, and the 11th busiest airport as measured by aircraft take-offs and landings.
Following YXU, Fredericton International Airport (YFC) in New Brunswick was found to be the second most complained about airport in Canada, with 36% of reviews offering one or two stars out of five, and 18% of travellers complaining about flights at the airport being delayed or cancelled.
Finally, Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ) was the third most complained about Canadian airport. Pearson, Canada's busiest airport, was found to have the highest percentage of reviews below a three-star rating (41%), with 10% of reviews mentioning delayed or cancelled flights.

It's not the first time Canadian airports have been singled out for delays.
Last year, Toronto Pearson Airport was named among the best airports in the world in a study compiled by Cabin Crew HQ, but was found to lag in one important area.
The airport was ranked 29th out of 30 airports, falling short when it came to delays, with just 55.9% of its flights on time, on average.
In 2022, Pearson Airport was also ranked as the worst airport in the world for delays, with data from FlightAware showing that 52.5% of the airport's flights were delayed from May 26 to July 19, 2022.
