This Ontario ski resort with Switzerland vibes is one of the most affordable in Canada
You don't have to blow your budget on a European winter getaway in order to experience some snowy Switzerland vibes. This Ontario destination is like a winter trip abroad and it's home to one of the most affordable ski resorts in Canada.
Located just a few hours from Toronto, this spot has a charming village with European vibes, snowy slopes and quaint mountain surroundings.
Online gaming authority Casino.org recently unveiled a study of Canada's most and least expensive ski resorts to visit in 2024.
The study looked at daily cost factors such as lift ticket prices, equipment rentals, average accommodation costs, average meal costs and group lesson costs in order to determine the ranking.
Of the 20 destinations featured, this Ontario spot was named as one of the most affordable in the country
Blue Mountain Resort, located in the Blue Mountains, was ranked the fifth most affordable ski resort in Canada and was the only Ontario spot to make the list.
The destination is "Ontario's only year-round mountain resort and spa," according to the website, and offers a range of experiences and activities.
The total cost for a trip to Blue Mountain Resort during high season is estimated at $536.50.
On average, you can expect to pay $152 for lift tickets, $99 for rentals, $200 for nightly accommodation and $31.50 for meals, according to the study.
The study also found that Blue Mountain Resort offers the cheapest half-day group lessons in Canada, with an average price of $54.
The most expensive ski resort in Canada is Banff Sunshine Village Ski Resort in Alberta, with a total cost of $1027.50 per day, while the cheapest is Powder King Mountain Resort in BC with a total cost of $394 per day.
Aside from skiing, Blue Mountain Resort offers attractions such as a mountain coaster, tubing, snowshoeing and skating.
