Ontario's weather is going to hit freezing temperatures this week with storms on the weekend
The cherry blossoms have officially bloomed in Ontario which might make you tempted to start your spring garden, but there are going to be some freezing temperatures this week that you should keep in mind.
Ontario's weather is set for some downright winterlike behaviour despite it being almost May and you'll definitely want to keep your scarves and mitts on hand for a bit longer.
On Tuesday, temperatures are expected to nosedive and there could be a chance of frost which may affect the cherry blossoms, according to The Weather Network.
Then it's bad news again for Wednesday and Thursday in terms of colder weather.
"Cool days are ahead once more with daytime high temperatures just getting above the freezing mark in the northern sections and remaining in the single digits in the southern end," says the weather agency.
"Overnight temperatures will range from 1°C to as cold as -5°C in central Ontario on Thursday morning," they continue. "Frost is expected as a result, so, if you have begun planting already, it will be necessary to protect them beforehand."
For the weekend, the temperatures are looking milder which brings with it a chance for thunderstorms in the province.
"Consistent, mid- to high-teen temperatures will arrive from this weekend through all of next week," says TWN.
Maybe next week those winter scarves can go away for good for the season!
