Zoocasa recently revealed "10 Towns You Should Visit on a European Road Trip in Canada," highlighting destinations across the country that share names with iconic European cities.
Paris, Ontario, was one of the destinations included in the list, and while it may not be France, it still offers a wealth of historic charm.
Nestled along the Grand River just over an hour from Toronto, Paris is home to gorgeous scenery and is even known as "the prettiest town in Canada."
According to Zoocasa, "its historic downtown is dotted with cobblestone buildings, boutique shops, and riverside cafes that give it a romantic, European feel."
You can spend your day wandering around the quaint streets and popping into the shops. The Paris Wincey Mills Co. is a charming place to visit, featuring a variety of vendors, delicious treats, and local goods.
Other highlights include the Paris Museum, the Paris Beer Company, and Stillwaters Plate & Pour, where you can soak up some stunning river views on the patio.
During the summer months, you can float your way along the Grand River or explore the scenic waterside trails surrounding the town.
"It's the kind of place where you can spend a lazy afternoon walking the waterfront, enjoying fresh pastries, and watching kayakers drift by," Zoocasa says.
Paris is also known as the "Cobblestone Capital of Canada" due to the many cobblestone buildings lining its streets, and you can take a self-guided tour past these old-world gems.
