The season of pumpkin spice lattes, crisp air and cozy sweaters is upon us, and if you're planning some fall road trips, you'll want to head to some of these stunning Ontario spots.
We asked readers on Narcity Canada's Facebook page what the most beautiful spot to visit during the fall in Canada is. Out of hundreds of responses, these are a few of the Ontario destinations that locals recommended.
Muskoka, a scenic region located a road trip from Toronto, was a top choice. Known for its mirror-like lakes, vibrant forests and colourful fall driving routes, it's no wonder this spot is loved by Canadians.
There are so many ways to experience the foliage in Muskoka, from taking a cruise, hiking along a forested trail, enjoying a wagon ride and more.
Another beautiful Ontario destination that was mentioned is Algonquin Park. The massive provincial park is known to be a fall-colour hotspot with endless woodlands and lookouts.
The walking trails along Highway 60 with lookouts are some of the best spots to take in the autumn views.
Lake Nipigon Provincial Park also got a shoutout for its fall beauty. The park is home to unique green-black sand beaches as well as stunning colours that can be seen along the trails.
Fancy a fall island getaway? Locals say that Manitoulin Island is the place to be for autumn views. The enchanting destination transforms into a red and orange wonderland and spots like the Cup & Saucer Trail and Bridal Veil Falls are gorgeous places to see the foliage.
Another recommended fall destination was the Ottawa Valley. Spanning parts of Eastern Ontario and Quebec, the valley is brimming with apple orchards, pumpkin patches and breathtaking hikes.
You can enjoy activities like apple-picking at McGregor's Orchard, fall fun at Hugli’s Blueberry Ranch and hiking at enchanting spots like the Manitou Mountain Trail.
Other places outside of Ontario that received some recognition for their fall beauty include the Cabot Trail, Cape Breton Highlands, Gatineau Park and Quebec City.
