2 GoodLife Employees Near Toronto Test Positive For COVID-19

A memo was sent out to members who may have been exposed.

Two COVID-19 cases have reportedly been confirmed at the GoodLife Fitness in Mississauga's Heartland Town Centre.

The gym was first notified on Friday, August 29 that an employee tested positive, according to a statement shared with Narcity.

On Monday morning, the gym became aware of a second employee that had contracted the disease.

In both cases, the affected Associates took all appropriate health and safety precautions.

Tracy Matthews, GoodLife VP of Operations

"The Associate has not been in the Club since Saturday, August 29, and is currently in quarantine at home," said Matthews.

A memo was shared on Reddit that was apparently sent to members, indicating the dates and times that they may have been exposed.

Matthews said in the statement that the employees in question wore masks the entire time they were working.

The gym stresses that their health and safety measures are "designed to decrease the risk of transmission in our Clubs, even if someone who tests positive has been in our facility."

Just last week, a GoodLife fitness in Brampton was forced to temporarily close after an employee contracted COVID-19.
