A group of people are facing charges after gathering at a house party in Kirkland Lake during Ontario's stay-at-home order.

According to the OPP, officers were forced to break up a house party on Harding Avenue on May 9 after receiving reports of a "large gathering" at the residence.

The incident resulted in a total of 23 people being charged under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.

This includes one person who was charged for hosting the gathering during the stay-at-home order.

OPP Constable Adam Gauthier told Narcity that the total amount of fines issued was $32,500.
