The Amethyst Mine Panorama is a magical place near Thunder Bay where you can dig for your own precious rocks, and it plans to reopen this spring.

Visitors can wander through acres of purple, lavender, red and black amethysts and fill up a pail to bring home with them. 

Tours of the facility are also available, and there is a shop on site where you can purchase jewellery and other souvenirs. 

Closed-toed shoes are recommended, and safety protocols are in place for visitors.
