This Rooftop Adult Playground In Atlanta Is Screening Your Fave Classic Flicks This Summer

Every Wednesday at 8!
Contributor

Going to the movies might not be the easiest thing to do anymore, but hot spots around cities are getting creative on how to bring back movie nights. Drive-in theatres have been making a bit of a comeback and now bars are even holding viewing nights. Ponce City Market in Atlanta, Georgia has just announced their summer movie night events and they start tonight.

Ponce City Market's Skyline Park is showing classic movies every Wednesday night for the rest of the summer.

"Catch your favorite flick from new heights at Movies on the Roof," the event's Facebook post says. "We’re playing classics and new favorites every Wednesday evening at 8:30 p.m., so grab popcorn and settle in — we’ll be here all summer."

You'll have full access to the movie when you buy an unlimited gameplay wristband for the park or if you make a reservation at 9 Mile. You can also purchase tickets online for $20 and this gives you access to explore the entire roof.

There's plenty of open-air space on the top of Ponce City Market where the movie will be shown, which makes it easy to social-distance while getting out of the house.

Tonight is their first showing of the summer and you can catch Indiana Jones & the Raiders of the Lost Ark backdropped by the Atlanta skyline. Next week, July 1, House Party will be on the big screen.

Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you want a front-row seat, getting there before the flick starts might be your best bet. That'll give you a chance to hit the sky-high slide too.

Before the movie starts, you can grab a turkey leg, popcorn, cheeseburgers, funnel cake, and more.

Pairing it with one of their spring cocktails will give you a little sip of the season. The P3 Margarita is made with Espolon Blanco Tequila, Lime, Prickly Pear, and Orange for a refreshing fruity feel. They also offer frozen cocktails, beers, and wines.

Skyline Park has also implemented new safety guidelines such as limiting elevator capacity, being cashless, disposing menus after each use, and having hand sanitizer located throughout the rooftop.
