If you’ve been waiting for your chance to once again hit the beaches, your time may be coming. As of September 1, Canada to Hawaii trips can be taken without imposing the previous 14-day quarantine rule. However, you’ll have to prove that you don't have COVID-19 by showing negative test results from within the last 72 hours.
Hawaii's Department of Transportation says that the state isn’t opening to global travellers — just “trans-pacific” ones.

If you are unable to prove that you are healthy by showing a negative result upon arrival, you will be required to quarantine for 14 days.
There will be no tests available at any Hawaii airports and travellers are responsible for the costs of their own tests.
The ban lift was initially scheduled for August 1 but was pushed back as Hawaii saw an increase in cases, according to a July 13 news release from the governor.
Children of all ages will be subject to these rules, as well.
There has been a bit of a loophole in the pandemic restrictions between the USA and Canada.
While land travel has been closed to Canadians looking to go to the USA since March 12, air travel has never actually been restricted, Montreal-based travel expert Ricky Zhang told CBC News.
However, self-imposed quarantines upon arrival are currently required to enter any state.
So, when can you hop on a plane to the islands? Westjet's non-stop flights from Vancouver to Hawaiian destinations will start back up on September 5, while Air Canada will resume their trips to the state on September 8, CBC reports.
One thing to note: if you are planning any international trips, as per the current Canadian guidelines, you will be required to isolate for 14 days upon return to Canada.
The Hawaii State Health department has reported 2,111 confirmed cases of COVID-19 up to July 31, with 26 deaths.
It was the only state to initially mandate a quarantine period for travellers.
