Start your engines! The long-anticipated Canada’s Drag Race trailer has finally arrived, and it showcases some of our country’s most talented queens. The show is set to premiere later this summer and you don’t want to miss it.

Nearly a year ago, news came out that Canada would be getting its own version of the hit reality series RuPaul’s Drag Race. Canadians had previously competed on the original show, but this is the first time we’ll be seeing a cast that hails entirely from the True North.

Just months after the announcement of the show, the judges were revealed, and they include some huge names. Former Drag Race contestant Brooke Lynn Hytes will be sitting alongside actor Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, who you may recognize from Unreal and Falling Inn Love.

Last, but certainly not least on the Canadian panel is model Stacey McKenzie, who has appeared on both Canada’s Next Top Model and America’s Next Top Model.

In more recent months, we were given a first look at the upcoming show and were introduced to this season’s competitors, who come all the way from Victoria, British Columbia to Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario.

The sneak peek gave us a rough idea of what to expect from Canada’s Drag Race, but now that the trailer is here, some real excitement is beginning to stir.

“After many years of dreaming, it’s official,” RuPaul can be heard saying in the clip. “We’re looking for Canada’s first drag superstar. Oh, Canada! Start your engines.”

The video showcases a diverse group of cast members, including French Canadians, Black and BIPOC queens, and members of the LGBTQ2S+ community.

“These queens should be afraid of me because they’re here because of me,” one competitor says.

“I am the queen of social media. I’ve taught 100,000 people how to do drag in my videos, and I’m here to teach 11 more,” another queen teased.

With the trailer alone containing so much sass and shade, it’s easy to imagine what the season has in store for us.

The video also revealed some of this seasons’ celebrity guest hosts, such as Elisha Cuthbert, Amanda Brugel, Deborah Cox, Tom Green, Mary Walsh, and RuPaul’s Drag Race legend, Michelle Visage.

Canada’s Drag Race is set to premiere on Thursday, July 2. You can check out the fabulous trailer for the series below.
