Tons of Florida Airbnb rentals have been suspended from the company’s platform again due to occupancies violations.

Orlando Weekly reported that over 40 rentals in various Florida counties have been suspended, including Alachua, Broward, Duval, Lake, Lee, Manatee, Miami-Dade, Okaloosa, Orange, Palm Beach, St. Johns and Walton counties.

Unauthorized parties have always been prohibited at Airbnb listings.

When the state-wide quarantine was put into place, and “coronavirus parties” began cropping up in communities, Airbnb was quick to pull the “event friendly” filter from their site, condemning such gatherings as “incredibly irresponsible.

In a press release, Airbnb explained that they had put a worldwide ban on all parties and events at all of their listings, as well as a 16-person occupancy cap.

This ban is set indefinitely and was put into place by the company to help promote social distancing.
