October is the month for anything that has to do with pumpkins. It's time to get into the fall spirit, watch the leaves change colour, carve a couple of pumpkins, and dress up for Halloween. This year, why not head over to the annual Waterford Pumpkinfest and see their huge pumpkin pyramid and Halloween parade?

Waterford, a village community around 60 kilometres southwest of Hamilton, Ontario, hosts its annual Pumpkinfest each year. The all-encompassing event is put on by the Waterford Lions & Lioness to celebrate their community and help raise funds for tons of community projects.

Oh, well would you look at that - yet another cool and epic thing happening in the Hammer! *cue evil laugh.* That’s right, my hometown city has done it again, and no it's not what you're thinking; it’s definitely not another delicious restaurant recently added to our food scene. We have enough of those. Pfft.

Located on the corner of James St. South and Jackson St. West, the city is hosting a light tunnel takeover in the downtown core. With over 100 lanterns scattered over 100-feet, this strip of lanterns is the ultimate addition to Hamilton’s acclaimed art scene!

Ralph the dog is the latest weird sculpture that everyone wants to see. He's 15 feet long, and has shaggy fur made entirely out of grass from New Zealand. Ralph made his debut on Wednesday, and he's already attracted hundreds of curious visitors.

You can find him outside of the city hall building in Hamilton, Ontario. His fur is expected to keep growing all summer, but he'll probably be needing a trim at some point by one of the many horticultural staff that put him together.
