A protest against Montreal police is set to take place in the city's downtown this afternoon.

Protesters are scheduled to gather in front of Station 21 at 3 p.m. to denounce alleged police misconduct involving unhoused people.

The allegations, first reported by daily newspaper La Presse, include one officer urinating on an unhoused person while on duty.

Another officer allegedly posed for photos appearing to mock a suspect placed in a humiliating position during an arrest.

Montreal police confirmed on Oct. 16 that it suspended two of its officers at that station.

The next day, several protesters carried signs denouncing police brutality in Montreal at a rally originally organized in solidarity with student protesters in France.
