A 5-year-old boy was killed after reportedly being attacked by three dogs at a First Nation community north of Edmonton.

The attack took place on March 5, when High Prairie RCMP received reports of the dog attack at a residence on Whitefish First Nation just after 5:30 p.m., police said in a statement.

Police are warning Albertans about "poor road conditions" on one of the province's highways after a huge multi-vehicle collision left one person dead and nine others injured.

In a statement, Airdrie RCMP said they were called to the scene at around 10:10 p.m. on December 27, after receiving reports of around 15-20 vehicles involved in a collision on Highway 2, just north of Veterans Boulevard at Highway 72 in Rocky View County.

Police in Taber, Alberta spent their morning dealing with a pretty wild incident, when 20 ostriches started running loose in the street and causing mayhem.

In a statement, Taber-Vauxhall RCMP said just before 8 a.m., they'd received reports of approximately 20 ostriches running loose in the road around Highway 39 area on Thursday, November 24.

An Alberta paramedic took to Facebook to share her experience of unknowingly treating her teenage daughter in a fatal car crash.

In a Facebook post, the paramedic and mother, Jayme Erickson, said her "worst nightmare" had come true after she and her partner were dispatched to a collision just west of Airdrie on November 15.
