Researchers from Western University confirmed on Wednesday that a total of six EF-2 tornadoes struck Ontario last week, following reports of a "harrowing escape" from a tornado near Sunbeam Lake in Algonquin Park.

The weather event, which occurred around 4:20 p.m. on July 15, injured two campers and caused significant tree damage, according to the Northern Tornadoes Project. It has been confirmed by satellite imagery.

Disaster struck Barrie on Thursday, July 15, when a tornado touched down in the Ontario region. A city councillor in the area, Natalie Harris, recounted her terrifying experience in an interview with Narcity.
