On Monday, the Ontario government announced that they would make bivalent COVID-19 booster doses available to everyone in the public by the end of September.

The government will give Ontarians 18 years or older the chance to receive their bivalent COVID-19 booster dose, starting with the most vulnerable. This decision was based on guidance from Health Canada and the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI).

University of Toronto students and faculty looking to live on campus this fall will have to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and have at least one booster dose.

The National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) has released a new statement that recommends, among other things, a fall COVID-19 booster shot for specific populations in Canada.

In a notice on June 29, the public health organization — made up of experts in infectious diseases, public health, pediatrics, immunology and more — issued a "strong recommendation" that key vulnerable communities be granted access to another COVID-19 booster shot this fall.

Canada's National Advisory Committee on Immunization is now suggesting that select groups in Canada should be given a second COVID-19 booster shot.

In a report put out by the committee on Tuesday, April 5, it was recommended that governments start to prepare for the deployment of a second booster to Canadians over the age of 80, as well as those who live in long-term care and other congregate living facilities for seniors.
