Sam Asghari Says 'Sh*t Happens' After Britney Spears Split & She's Planning A Big Splurge
Britney Spears and Sam Asghari are getting divorced, and her soon-to-be ex-husband is speaking out.
In an Instagram story on Wednesday, Asghari said that after six years of "love and commitment," he and Spears have decided to call it quits and that "sh*t happens."
"After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together. We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always. Sh*t happens. Asking for privacy seems ridiculous so I will just ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful," reads his Instagram story.

Shortly after his post, Spears took to Instagram on Wednesday with her own life announcement– she's thinking about buying a horse.
Spears shared a photo of her riding a horse in a bikini on the beach with the caption, "Buying a horse soon!!! So many options it's kinda hard!!! A horse called Sophie and another called Roar??? I can't make up my mind!!! Should I join the camaraderie and put a pink cowboy hat on??? Either way I think I found my sweet spot with Roar!!!"
So it looks like the singer is moving towards greener and possibly hay-filled pastures amid her divorce.
ET Canada reported on August 16 that Asghari had filed for divorce from Spears after just one year of marriage after Asghari confronted his wife about rumours that she had cheated.
"Britney and Sam have split. She's adamant she didn't cheat. The two haven't got along for a while and it finally came to an end after a major blowup," a source told ET Canada.
Spears' net worth is estimated at around $60 million, according to Forbes, in 2021, and rumours that Asghari may be contesting his prenup for more money have been swirling.
"There are many claims that Sam is challenging the prenup and threatening to exploit his ex-wife with videos,” Asghari's rep Brandon Cohen of BAC Talent told Rolling Stone.
"However, all these claims are false, as no negative intention has ever been directed towards her and never will be. Sam has always and will always support her."
After news broke of their divorce, Pink showed Spears some love at her concert in Detroit and changed the lyrics to her iconic song "Don't Let Me Get Me."
The original lyric goes, "Tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears/She's so pretty/ That just ain't me."
But fans capture Pink making subtle changes during her performance in Detroit on Wednesday when she sang, "Tired of being compared to sweet Britney Spears," according to a video.
It looks like Pink is thinking of Spears as she navigates this life change in the sweetest and subtlest of ways.
Spears nor her family have not said anything publicly about the split.
The pop singer is set to release her memoir The Woman in Me on October 24. We'll have to wait and see if she addresses the divorce in the book.
