Hamilton, located an hour away from Toronto, has earned the nickname the "waterfall capital of the world" due to the endless cascades that can be found in the region.
According to Tourism Hamilton, the area is home to over 100 waterfalls, making it a hiking paradise.
Many of the popular waterfalls are situated just minutes from downtown, so you don't need a long trek to find these natural wonders.
As autumn turns the landscapes red and gold, the waterfalls look even more magical. You can wander along leafy trails and discover these hidden gems tucked away amidst stunning colours.
A few must-see waterfalls are Felker's Falls, a "hidden gem" tucked into the Felker's Falls Conservation Area, and Albion Falls, which is dubbed one of the region's most picturesque.
Tiffany Falls is another popular spot to visit. Hidden is a crimson forest, the 21-metre cascade is straight out of an autumn fairy tale.
For a fall hike with a view, the Dundas Peak and Tew Falls Loop is the spot to explore. Located in the Spencer Gorge Conservation Area, this trail takes you by a majestic ribbon waterfall and up to a lookout over a valley bursting with autumn colours.
You'll also want to check out Webster Falls in Spencer Gorge Conservation Area. It's the largest waterfall in the region, and looks extra majestic surrounded by vibrant fall colours.
