Ontario's dreamy 'Purple Road' leads you to quaint small towns and sweet lavender farms
Ontario has an enchanting "Purple Road" and it leads to some magical destinations. The route takes you to quaint little villages and sweet-smelling lavender farms for a dreamy summer day trip.
The "road" features 55 lavender farms scattered across the province and you can explore endless fields of purple and enjoy events throughout the summer season.
You can also check out some of the beautiful small towns along the way that are brimming with charm, local shops and cute cafes.
With lavender now in bloom, it's the perfect time to take a trip along the Purple Road and here's what to know about this whimsical experience.
The Purple Road, created by the Ontario Lavender Association, highlights some of the beautiful lavender farms across Ontario.
There are currently 55 lavender farms along the Purple Road and many offer activities such as festivals, yoga, picnics and more. You can choose a destination from the map to plan a flower-filled adventure.
You can head to spots like Avalon Lavender and Purple Hill for dreamy picnics or The Giving Place and PEC Lavender for some fun festivals.
The Purple Road also takes you to cute towns like Collingwood and Bayfield where you can enjoy the local offerings, grab a bite to eat and more.
Lavender is typically in bloom until mid-August, so get planning your Purple Road adventure.
