This city was ranked as the best place to live in Canada for a high quality of life
Each and every Canadian city has its own unique offerings, but one has come out on top in a recent ranking — dubbed the best place to live in Canada with the best quality of life for 2024.
While the major centres like Vancouver and Toronto get a lot of the hype generally, it was actually an Alberta one that took the top spot.
Moving Waldo put together the ranking using three criteria: quality of life, level of crime and affordability. They gathered feedback using online forums and looked at factors like job opportunities, education, safety, and public transportation. Affordability was also a key point of the study, considering housing prices and rentals.
All said and done Calgary took the number one top on the ranking. As a more affordable option compared to other major cities in the country, and surrounded by stunning nature, the city might just tempt Torontonians out there to make a move.
"Calgary is safer than many other large cities in the country. Housing is also reasonably priced, with homes averaging around $588,600, and condos offering an even more affordable option," the study said.
The ranking of the best Canadian cities to live in, right now, is as follows:
- Calgary, Alberta
- Wellington County, Ontario
- LaSalle, Ontario
- Lévis, Quebec
- Oak Bay, B.C.
- Fredericton, New Brunswick
- Durham Region, Ontario (Oshawa/Whitby/Ajax)
