On February 9, a food recall warning was issued for Indian Heritage brand Soya Chaap sold in B.C. and Ontario due to undeclared wheat, gluten and soy.
The recall included all codes where wheat, gluten and soy are not declared on the label.
"Do not consume recalled products to which you are allergic or sensitive," advises the government. "If you have celiac disease or other gluten-related disorders, do not consume the recalled product as it may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction."

Dole brand and President's Choice brand Salad Kits

On February 9, a food recall warning was issued for Dole brand and President's Choice brand Salad Kits sold nationally due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination in association with a deadly outbreak in the U.S. involving certain products manufactured by Rizo Lopez Foods.
The affected products include:
- Dole Chop Kit - Avocado Ranch, all Best Before dates from February 6 up to and including February 20
- Dole Suprême Kit - Southwest Salad, all Best Before dates from February 3 up to and including February 18
- President’s Choice Southwest - Salad Kit, all best before dates up to and including February 18
"Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness." advises the government.
"Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk. Although infected pregnant women may experience only mild, flu-like symptoms, the infection can lead to premature delivery, infection of the newborn or even stillbirth. In severe cases of illness, people may die."

On February 9, a food recall warning was issued for Fresh Express brand Salsa! Ensalada Salad Kit sold in Alberta and B.C. due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
The recall includes all Best Before dates from January 8 up to and including February 22, says the government, and is also associated with the outbreak of infections in the U.S. linked to products manufactured by Rizo Lopez Foods.
"If you think you became sick from consuming a recalled product, contact your healthcare provider," advises CFIA. "Check to see if you have recalled products."
As well as not consuming, serving, using, selling or distributing recalled products, you can also throw them out or return them to where they were purchased from.

The affected products include:
- President’s Choice Chopped Mexican-Style Street Corn Salad Kit, all best before dates up to and including February 19
- Taylor Farms Mexican Style Street Corn Salad Kit (2 pack), all best before dates up to and including February 19
