These 12 Celebrities Spent The Holidays In Canada & Here's Where They Visited (PHOTOS)
Whether it's spending time with family, attending an NHL game or hitting the slopes, many celebrities spent the holidays with plenty of fun-filled activities.
While some stars travelled to abroad for their celebrations, there were several celebs who came to Canada to celebrate Christmas or New Year's.
From Justin Bieber to Shay Mitchell and Chelsea Handler, here is how 12 celebrities spent the holidays in cities across Canada and what they got up to during their trips.
Justin & Hailey Bieber
It looks like Justin Bieber came home for the 2023 holiday season with his wife Hailey Bieber.
Justin grew up in Ontario and owns a property in the province so it's not surprising that's where he chose to spend some time over Christmas.
The pop star is also a huge fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and he didn't miss an opportunity to go to an NHL game on December 27 at Scotiabank Arena to support his favourite team while he was in the city!
Justin shared several photos on Instagram of him and Hailey enjoying the game from the stands.
The 2024 NHL All-Star Game will be hosted in Toronto on February 3 for the first time in years so we're hoping that means another appearance from the couple!
Shay Mitchell
Pretty Little Liars actress Shay Mitchell also came home for the holidays, and for this star that means a trip out west.
Mitchell shared a carousel of photos on Instagram of herself aboard the BC Ferries with her kids, at the Nordic Spa in Victoria and outside The Mushroom Hut in Coombs on Vancouver Island.
It looks like the actress also spent time in Vancouver during her trip.
This wasn't the first time Mitchell visited Vancouver in 2023. She also spent a part of the summer in the Canadian province as well.
We love seeing what the actress gets up to when she visits!
Chelsea Handler
Chelsea Handler is one celebrity who loves vacationing in Whistler in the winter and this holiday season was no different.
The comedian shared a bunch of videos and photos from her Christmas and New Year's in Whistler and it looks like she had an epic time.
"I spent Christmas and new years with my brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews and friends and dogs, and I am loving making memories with all of them," she wrote in an Instagram caption alongside pics from the holiday parties and from the slopes.
Handler has previously shared videos of herself skiing in Whistler, including one in 2022 where she went down the hill topless.
In an interview with ET Canada, Handler said she considers herself to be an "honourary Canadian" and even revealed that she owns a chalet in the ski town.
Anthony Hopkins
Hollywood star Anthony Hopkins was spotted around Vancouver in late 2023 and it looks like the Silence of the Lambs actor spent the holidays in the city as well.
On December 22, 2023, Hopkins shared a video of himself playing the piano inside the lobby of the Shangri-La Hotel in Vancouver.
"Something about a piano in an empty lobby…PERFECT venue," he wrote.
Drake
Drake spent plenty of time in Toronto in late 2023 after wrapping up his It's All A Blur Tour.
While the Toronto rapper was spotted in Turks and Caicos in mid-December with Camila Cabello, according to E News, it looks like he may have returned to Canada for Christmas.
Drizzy shared a photo with his mom Sandi Graham and his six-year-old son Adonis in front of a Christmas tree over the holidays.
Finn Wolfhard
Stranger Things actor Finn Wolfhard came home to Vancouver for the holidays and he made time to go see an NHL game while he was in town.
The Vancouver Canucks shared a photo of Wolfhard wearing a special Canucks shirt inside Rogers Arena. It looks like the actor attended the game on his 21st birthday so it must've been pretty exciting to have the Canucks end the game with a 7-4 win against the San Jose Sharks.
Wolfhard visits his home city of Vancouver often and enjoys going out to restaurants while he's there so we're curious where he dined out during his latest trip.
Michael Bublé
Singer Michael Bublé spent the holidays with his family in his hometown of Burnaby.
The actor shared photos with his wife Luisana Lopilato from Grouse Mountain in mid-December. It looks like the couple visits the ski destination every year.
"What can I say, we’re suckers for a good family tradition! Our annual visit to @grousemountain was breathtaking as always. (First time with our girl Cielo) If you’re lucky enough to live here or get the chance to visit Vancouver we highly recommend you check it out," the couple wrote in a joint Instagram post.
Lopilato shared additional photos and videos of their Christmas celebrations, including photos from Vancouver and the couple enjoying family time with their kids.
Anna Cathcart
XO, Kitty actress Anna Cathcart is currently a student at the University of British Columbia and it looks like she ended 2023 on a celebratory note.
On December 23, 2023, Cathcart shared several photos from around campus, including one with a Christmas tree in front of the fireplace.
"University diaries thank you @ UBC for another amazing, chaotic, and sleep deprived chapter," she wrote.
It looks like the actress is a big fan of fellow Vancouver actor Ryan Reynolds as his photo was seen hanging next to the Christmas tree in the photos.
Pamela Anderson
Baywatch star Pamela Anderson seemingly spent the holidays at her home in Ladysmith on Vancouver Island.
The actress shared a picture of herself standing next to her Christmas tree and another one of her dancing.
"Wishing you a little holiday cheer... and the greatest gift of all - Love," the caption reads.
Anderson often shares photos from her stunning B.C. property and calls herself an "island girl at heart."
Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed Simmons
While Kiss musician Gene Simmons and his wife, Canadian actress Shannon Tweed Simmons, appear to have spent their Christmas in Beverly Hills, it looks like New Year's was spent at their home in Whistler.
Several years ago, Gene shared that Shannon had built her "dream house" in the Canadian ski town and she has since shared lots of photos from the property.
The actress shared her latest one on Instagram on January 1 with a stunning view of the water and mountains.
"Happynewyear from #Canada! It’s a beautiful day!" Shannon wrote in the caption.
