To find out how people really feel about hydration, Liquid I.V. asked 2,012 Canadians to answer a short survey — and the results will have you reaching for your water bottle.
The most striking find was that 63% of survey respondents felt dehydrated at least once a week. Millennials and Gen Z feel this even more at over 70%. It gets worse when it's cold too. Liquid I.V. found that 65% of people drank less water in winter with 70% saying they aren’t thinking of hydration during the season. These are the folks crushing pow and fat-biking through the snow. What gives?

A big part is that Canadians don't notice they should be drinking more water in winter. Almost half (45%) said they just don't think about drinking water as much in winter, 41% said they don't feel thirsty, and 21% didn't realize how much they sweat.
Your need for hydration doesn't vanish in winter, but it might be more challenging to keep up with. So, your hydration strategy has to adapt if you're going to keep crushing it.
How to stay hydrated in winter
First things first: Drink more water. Get a collapsible water bottle you can carry easily, set a reminder on your phone to take some sips, or associate hydrating with a moment in your day ("I'll drink some water before I get on the ski lift").
