York Region Public Health (YRPH) is reminding residents to check their shelves and get rid of a Mr. Right brand product after someone was recently hospitalized.

Dr. Barry Pakes, York Region Medical Officer of Health, told Narcity that on Monday, October 24, 2022, they received "a report of a York Region resident being hospitalized after becoming severely ill due to a suspected aconite exposure."

Over the weekend, an unforeseen incident occurred at a Markham restaurant, which caused the place to shut down as investigations took place. However, starting Wednesday, the restaurant could reopen.

A citizen reported an impaired driver headed "northbound on Yonge Street from the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury" on August 13, shortly after 9 p.m., to the South Simcoe Police Service, according to a press release.

York Region District School Board (YRDSB) Student Trustee Munira Chakera tragically died this past weekend in a "motor vehicle collision."

Chakera's death was confirmed in an open letter from YRDSB's chair Allan Tam and Director of Education Louise Sirisko on Monday. They stated, "It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news that, over the weekend, Student Trustee Munira Chakera, passed away."
