The news was confirmed by star Joey King over the weekend during a special fan event with Netflix.
"It's true! You guys, I just want to thank the fans for their tremendous support and the love they have shown us and the amazing franchise," King exclaimed. "From the first movie to the second one just coming out on Friday. I mean, the explosion of love have been so real. And it's because of everyone on here that this all happened, really."
The soon-to-be 21-year-old added, "And I have a little extra piece of info that may be exciting for some. The Kissing Booth 3 will be released in 2021."
According to Entertainment Weekly, the film was shot in South Africa at the same time that production was taking place for the second movie.
Netflix also shared a 48-second-long trailer for the third film.
The clip features characters Elle Evans (King), Noah Flynn (Jacob Elordi), Lee Flynn (Joel Courtney) and Rachel (Meganne Young).
While hanging out poolside, Elle receives a call from Harvard Admissions which she declines.
After Noah asks if everything is okay, Elle whispers something in his ear and the two whisk away for some privacy.
"Noah wants to read me poetry and tell me all about his feelings," Elle explains when asked where the two are secretly headed.
EW writes that the third film will see Elle tackle the tough decision about whether she wants to attend Harvard to be with BF Noah or Berkeley where she and her BFF Lee promised they would go together.
The rom-com flicks are based on novels written by Beth Reekles.
The first two films follow high school student Elle who's forced to confront her best friend's older brother and longtime crush at a kissing booth that's set up for charity.
