Toronto saw another violent incident on Friday, July 10 as a Scarborough shooting in broad daylight seriously injured a man.

Toronto Police say multiple gunshots were heard near Scarborough Town Centre this afternoon. Officers found that a 26-year-old man had been shot outside the mall.

It is too early to tell whether this was targeted.

TPS Insp. Paul Rinkoff

The victim was shot in the abdomen, according to CTV News. Police say the suspects fled the scene in a dark-coloured SUV after the attack. Police locked down the outside area upon arrival.

The man's injuries are thought to be serious but not life-threatening.

Const. Alex Li said police believe there may have been multiple witnesses. He added: "We are also advising our partners at the TTC just in case the suspects might have fled using public transportation or were using the TTC before."
