Alberta is about to get sexier! CNN Travel recently listed the "sexiest new hotels for 2024" and this upcoming Banff retreat made the cut.
The list, which was posted on January 5, 2024, ranked 24 new and upcoming hotels around the world, highlighting properties "with a little bit of oomph."

The only Canadian venue included in the roundup is The Moxy Banff. The building once served as Banff’s first commercial motor hotel, The Voyager Inn, and after a 30 million dollar makeover, it plans to open its doors in February as Moxy Banff.
According to the website, the hotel is a "bold mid-century design anchored in the centre by Bar Moxy and flanked on both sides by expansive rundle stone walls and unique precast guest wings that float over the parkades."

You can expect a bar with a "retro ski vibe" and "chairlift-inspired liquor baskets," complimentary cocktails at checkin, hot pools and a fully restored '66 VW food truck.
The mountain-view hotel rooms are complete with flatscreen TVs and a Canadian-chic design.
"This is an old 1960s motor hotel, and retro is the name of the game, from the racetrack-style looped bar with an old VW camper van in the corner, to the rooms, which veer from wood-clad walls to plaid-style décor behind the bed," the CNN Travel roundup said.
