Nearly 70% of the population have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose.

The province has just moved into stage two of the reopening plan and might not be that far off. According to the Government of Alberta, the third and final step of the reopening process is expected to begin "in late June or early July."

In order to move forward with this stage, it must be two weeks after 70% of Albertans who are above the age of 12 have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose.

As of Friday, June 11, 67.8% of the eligible population has had their first doses.

When Alberta reaches the third stage of reopening, all public health restrictions will be lifted.

The only exceptions are "isolation requirements for confirmed cases of COVID-19 and some protective measures in continuing care settings remain."
