If you're a dog lover, you likely have a favourite breed or a few favourite breeds. As it turns out, so does Canada. Canada's most popular dog breeds of 2020 have been announced and your top dogs may have made the cut.

The top 10 list was compiled by the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC), the country's main registry for purebred dogs. So, it's important to note that only purebreds are included in this ranking.

Last year, Labrador Retrievers snagged the top spot for the 26th year in a row. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel managed to sneak in at number 10, booting the Bull Dog from the list entirely. The top 10 list goes as follows:

  1. Labrador Retriever
  2. Golden Retriever
  3. German Shepherd
  4. Standard Poodle
  5. French Bulldog
  6. Shetland Sheepdog
  7. Australian Shepherd
  8. Havanese
  9. Bernese Mountain Dog
  10. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
If you're not big into the dog breed scene, you may not have heard of a Havanese or a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, but it looks like Canada loves them.
