As the country continues to deal with the third wave of COVID-19, Canada's international travel restrictions have been extended once again.

In an announcement on April 20, Minister of Public Safety Bill Blair confirmed that restrictions on non-U.S. international travel would remain in place until at least May 21, 2021.

It means that Canada’s borders will stay closed to travellers who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents if their purpose of travel is discretionary.

However, this doesn’t include visitors from the United States.

A short while later though, Blair also confirmed that the Canada-U.S. border would not be reopening on April 21. Instead, the border will remain closed until May 21 at the earliest.
