Feeling like a European getaway? You don't have to get on a plane to find quaint streets and old-world charm. This small town in Ontario is brimming with European vibes, and it's a road trip from Toronto.

On Narcity Canada's Facebook page, we asked readers to share places in Ontario that make them feel like they're in Europe. The post received over 400 comments, and this enchanting small town was one of the recommended spots.

Niagara-on-the-Lake is a historic village located about an hour and a half from Toronto.

The area is home to a Heritage District where you can imagine you've been whisked away to Europe. According to Visit Niagara, the district "is made for walking, with its boutique shops, cast-iron planters bursting with flowers, and horse-drawn carriages transporting riders to another time and place."

During the summer, you can enjoy an ice cream cone as you wander along the quaint streets or sip wine on sun-filled patios. In the winter, the area turns into a snowy wonderland with wine festivals and Victorian Christmas charm.

The town has many spas and hotels, making it ideal for a romantic weekend getaway.

Niagara-on-the-Lake is surrounded by over 70 wineries, offering beautiful vineyard tours, wine tastings, and farm-to-table dining for a truly enchanting escape.

Other highlights of Niagara-on-the-Lake include the Shaw Festival Theatre, Fort George National Historic Site of Canada and the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum.
