Canadians recently revealed which universities have the "prettiest" campuses.

A few schools in Ontario were named as the most beautiful in Canada, including one that's right along the shoreline of a lake.

Narcity asked people on Facebook to share which Canadian universities have the "prettiest" campuses, and there have been almost 130 comments.

Three of the top five prettiest Canadian university campuses are in Ontario.

Located in Kingston, Queen's University is ranked second overall as the university in Canada with the most beautiful campus.

The campus has historic limestone architecture, modern buildings, an arboretum with rare and unique trees, and more.

Also, Queen's is right on the shores of Lake Ontario and near a few beaches!

Someone commented that the university campus is particularly beautiful during the fall season.

Western University is ranked fourth overall when it comes to Canada's prettiest university campuses.

It's located in London, which is known as the Forest City.

The campus spans more than 1,300 acres with historic architecture, modern buildings, and lots of green space.

Also, London's trail system along the Thames River is part of Western's campus. It can be used for walking, running, cycling, and more.

The University of Guelph is ranked as the fifth most beautiful campus in Canada.

It has an expansive network of greenhouses and a more than 400-acre arboretum with gardens, walking trails, natural woodlands, wetlands and meadows.

There is also a huge Gryphon statue that has a shiny beak because rubbing the beak is a tradition to bring good luck at the start of the semester and before exams!

"Guelph is so pretty and reminds me of an English country estate," someone commented. "Also, it's so contained, so no long distances to walk. It has a beautiful farm atmosphere."

Another person said that the University of Guelph campus is "absolutely beautiful."

Here are the top five prettiest university campuses, according to Canadians:

  1. University of British Columbia
  2. Queen's University
  3. McGill University
  4. Western University
  5. University of Guelph

After those schools, a few people said Trent University, Saint Mary's University, University of New Brunswick, St. Francis Xavier University, Royal Roads University, Dalhousie University, University of Victoria, and Bishop's University have Canada's most beautiful campuses.

Then, each of these universities got only one comment: University of Toronto, Université Laval, University of Alberta, Acadia University, York University, and University of Ottawa.

Of the 19 universities that Canadians said are the most beautiful, seven are located in Ontario.

Then, four are in Nova Scotia, three are in B.C., three are in Quebec, one is in New Brunswick, and one is in Alberta.

It seems like Canadians think most of the country's prettiest universities are in Ontario!
