If you're a young Canadian entrepreneur, chances are you're probably hanging out in Ottawa.

According to a new study by Dojo, the capital of Canada is now the 7th most ambitious city in the world, marking itself as an innovative and rapidly expanding environment, which has become a hub for start-ups.

In the past year, Ottawa has seen a 43% increase in Google searches for "how to start a new business" and over a 180% increase in searches related to funding independent ventures.

The accomplishment comes despite the city having one of the smallest populations of the top countries listed.

"The affluent city also boasts a knowledgeable workforce with 95.27% of the population having access to education and a high proportion of university graduates," an excerpt from the report reads.

While Ottawa is the only city in Canada to rank in the top ten, London, Sydney and Cape Town took the top three global spots.
