You might have to say goodbye to your favourite coffee shop because Starbucks Canada closures are happening this year with a lot of locations expected to shut down.

This is happening as part of the coffee company's plan to speed up its five-year store transformation to just 18 months.

144 number of locations expected to close by March

With the transformation plan, up to 300 locations in Canada were reviewed because they were the ones most affected by customers' preferences changing.

Some of those spots were permanently closed in fall 2020.

Now, Narcity has confirmed that the remaining locations are supposed to shut their doors for good by the end of March.

An inside source told Narcity Quebec that 144 stores are set to be closed in Canada by that time.

Back in June 2020, it was revealed that there were plans to shut down up to 200 Starbucks locations in Canada over the following two years.

While the coffee chain is sticking around, the country has said goodbye to many businesses both big and small including restaurants.
