Ontario's weather forecast calls for an 'active storm' with 'an abundance of rainfall'
An active storm is set to hit parts of Ontario, bringing in some warm weather to end the year and melting the last bit of snow for many areas.
The Ontario weather forecast is calling for lots of rain along with the warmer temperatures, so get out the raincoat.
The Weather Network said that first, the northeastern, central, and eastern parts of the province will likely get freezing rain on Saturday, as "warm air will mix the stubborn lingering cold air." Slippery roads are likely for Sudbury and the Bancroft area, so beware while driving.
For the rest of the province though, just rain is likely coming along with the warm air.
"Readings will differ between 5 to 20 degrees over seasonal across the entire province, washing away the last traces of snow for much of the south," TWN said.
Moving into Sunday a second system is expected in southern Ontario. Temperatures in the GTA and eastern Ontario could even reach the double digits, TWN predicted.
Southern Ontario is expected to get up to 40 mm of rain, and the higher-than-normal temperatures are expected to last for a few days, "with temperatures 5-10 degrees higher in southern Ontario and Quebec and ranging between 10-20 degrees warmer for parts of northern Ontario and Quebec."
Looks like we're getting a break from the wintry weather!
