This morning, the Encampment Support Network Toronto (ESNTO) held a press conference outside Mayor John Tory's condo in support of "the 50+ encampment residents & defenders ticketed/charged for standing up against the City's brutal evictions," they said on Twitter.

On September 14, ESNTO invited their followers on Twitter to come down to Mayor Tory's condo on the morning of September 16. According to a news release issued on September 16, Toronto Police arrested three people.

On Tuesday afternoon, Mayor John Tory's Executive Committee voted unanimously to rename Dundas Street and all other civic assets with the same name, including Dundas Square.

The decision will be reviewed at the next City Council meeting on July 14 for final approval. Then, the City will consult a committee of "Black and Indigenous leaders and representatives from the diverse communities represented along Dundas Street" for input on new names, which will be submitted in a report in 2022.

A Toronto police officer died early on Friday morning following an incident that took place inside a parking garage on Queen St. West at City Hall.

Toronto Police Chief James Ramer confirmed the death of Constable Jeffrey Northrup of 52 Division during a 9 a.m. press conference, describing him as "an outstanding police officer," who was very proud of what he did and was "loved by everyone."
