The New York Times recently revealed "4 Canadian roadtrips with a luxury twist," outlining "classy destination dupes" for popular U.S. getaway spots.
Destination dupes often refer to lower-cost, less-crowded alternatives to well-known vacation spots, and Ontario happens to have one that channels major Hamptons energy.
According to the New York Times article, Prince Edward County is a destination dupe for the Hamptons and offers a "maple syrup meets Norman Rockwell" vibe.
Like the Hamptons, Prince Edward County boasts gorgeous sandy beaches, scenic vineyards and an artsy atmosphere. It's a popular weekend getaway spot and is conveniently located between Ottawa and Toronto on the shores of Lake Ontario.
