I Tried The Viral Kensington Market Breakfast Sandwich & It Shook Me To My Core (VIDEOS)
What Toronto restaurant has the best breakfast sandwich in the city? Well, TikTok has been quick to jump on this spot and I had to give it a try for myself.
This hidden gem is found in Kensington Market and even though it's not very new, it has only now caught the attention of foodies in the city because it's recently been dominating TikTok and Instagram.
Sleepy Pete's is a breakfast and lunch spot that now I can say has the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had.
After waiting 20 minutes for a sandwich, I knew that this was a hidden gem people loved. You can see it all over TikTok too, thanks to foodies from all around the city who are reviewing the breakfast sandwiches. The consensus? They are downright delicious.

What makes the sandwich so good you might ask? It's definitely the English biscuit. The biscuit is freshly baked and has a perfect soft-to-crunchy ratio, but oddly enough, it doesn't crumble apart.
The sandwiches are huge so don't say I didn't warn you.
I typically lean towards vegetarian breakfast sandwiches, so I got the Poblano Egg for $10. It has a Chile poblano, avocado, egg, cheese, and tomatillo sauce on their handmade biscuit. I'm still salivating just thinking about how good the sandwich was.
Also the added Havarti cheese really does give it a creamy consistency that I was obsessed with.
Other popular breakfast sandwiches here are the bacon and egg and sausage and egg, which look equally as delicious.
@natdoumkos yeah im deeming this torontos best breakfast sandwich and ill probably go back tomorrow 🥓🍳 #torontotok #torontofood #torontofoodie #foodietoronto #torontobreakfast #torontocheapeats #foodietoronto #torontodiscover #torontofoodspots #torontofoodies #torontotodo #torontolife #torontolifestyle #torontowassup
They also have freshly made fingerling potatoes topped with parmesan cheese and herbs, which are also 'wow'.
If you like a good old hash brown, as I do, don't get one but two. They were handed to me warm, with the perfect crunch-to-chew ratio and I could've eaten hundreds of them.
Sleepy Pete's is located on 69 Kensington Ave., in Toronto and is open every day, except Tuesdays, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
I don't know what I'm up to this weekend, but you'll undoubtedly see me in line waiting to grab a breakfast sandwich.
I'll see you there!
